Hi everyone. I’d like to write about history of Irans’ nuclear program. Iran's nuclear program began in the 1960s with the establishment of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) by the late Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. The Shah, who referred to oil as 'noble fuel,' wanted to store Iran's oil for export. So, with the help of the United States and West Germany, Iran planned to construct nuclear power stations across the country. After the Islamic Revolution, however, it ceased construction on these stations. In 1995, Iran signed a contract with Russia to resume work on several nuclear power stations, namely the Bushehr nuclear power station in Southwest Iran. Since then Iran's nuclear program has come under the scrutiny of the United States and other nations that assert that Iran's ultimate goal is to develop nuclear weapons. The United States argues that Iran's vast oil and natural gas reserves exceed its energy requirements. Since Iran does not need nuclear energy, its ultimate goal must be the development of nuclear weapons. Iran's nuclear program has made the United States and Israel very nervous. Politicians in both these countries argue that Iran must be stopped, preferably by diplomatic means but by force if necessary. In addition, Ale-Baradi, Chief of IAEA in the last his interview said that “We don’t have proof so far that they (Iran) have done any weaponization nor have enriched uranium to the military level, but, if you ask me whether they have the know to developed the highly enriched uranium, the answer is yes”. On the other hand USA says that they have evidence that Iran stopped its process of enrichment uranium three yeas ago. It seems a interesting story for powerful countries to sell their weapons and technology to countries in middle east region.
I like to know your opinion about this international problem and also to know why USA and Germany firstly wanted to build that for Iran, but now?
Thank you.

Hi Bahram!
This is an interesting posting about your country's nuclear issue, and I have just got the knowledge of whats happening now in Iran, as we have always talked in class that the world today is full of politics, which is true.
It is almost 50 years since Iran's nuclear programme started as you said, with the help of the United States and Germany in its establishment. The question is-Why are they against it now?
O.K Another question arises-Do you believe that the U.S.A really wants to save the world from destruction by using nuclear weapons? No! No! No! Because if someone says yes, then why are they still building nuclear weapons as well?
Therefore, in my opinion, these big countries in the world like U.S.A are scared and jealous as they believe that if Iran has more nuclear weapons, she would have more power, plus the oil, then Iran would be more powerful than them.
Futhermore, I totally believe that a big nation like the United States aims to rule the whole world. Therefore, U.S.A never want any other country to be above her. That maybe the reason why she is now against the Iran's nuclear programme, eventhough she helped in the establishment of this programme in 1960.
Thats all from me today. See you!
Hi Poe
Thank you for your comment. As you mentioned over than 50 years, Iran started its nuclear program with USA and Germany. That period, Iranian government (King Pahlavi) had close and good relationship with western countries. Moreover, Iran was as a gendarme for these countries in the region (area). That time Iran had not normal and good relationship with USSR (RUS) therefore, it was suitable time (opportunity) to get a new technology from West. Iranian revelation in 1979’ when a new Iranian government had control over the country (mullah’s regime), although, it came to power with support from West, it has changed its policy and became anti America. The new regime made a good relationship with USSR (today’s RUS). I think this new policy was main factor to change every thing such as the agreement about nuclear program. How about your second question, I think USA likes only it’s allied (united) have chance to have and use of new technologies. For your information I have to say that in this area India, Pakistan and Israel that are USA’s friends have this technology. Moreover, all powerful countries are thinking about theirs interest in our region “Persian Golf”. They do not like ever think about poor people who live there and are under pressure from their government and foreign governments (such as, boycott and so on).
I like to write a lot, but sometimes I should to censor myself. Have a good time
IN 1953 The President of Iran nationalised the Oil industry. This outraged the US, and the CIA were given a mandate to remedy the situation, as the prospect of one of the major global producers of Oil being outside of the scope of its influence, was absolutely unacceptable.
The solution to the problem was to firstly esblish "An agenda", which they set about in quite a cunning way. They upped the ante with their journalist sources in Teheran, and the outcome of this was to create a campaign run by most of the editors of the National and local mewspapers, vilifying the President for his actions in taking over the Petroleum industry. This led to his demise in a short period of time, and the Yankee puppet, The Shah of Iran was installed as the country's leasder.
His reign lasted until 1979, when the Ayatolah and his cohorts took over the US embassy, and the revenge began.
The Nuclear industry is one of the dominant outcomes of that period. there is noway that the Iranian Government will not proceed with their Nuclear program, and whether or not this includes the production of WMD is a moot point. they have the capacity and the capability, and there is little that anybody can do about it.
For the Yanks it would appear that the chickens are about to come home to roost.
Hi Michael
As you said in 1953 the Iranian oil nationalised by Mohammad Mosadegh who was the prime minister of Iran. The main reason was the discord between Iran and England that has right to exploitation of Iranian oil. It was a good opportunity for USA to take the place of England in Iran. US could make close relationship with Iran. Moreover, Iran and USA were the two countries that could solve any problem in the middle-East and in the world as well. But, in the 1970’s suddenly the good friendly relationship exchanged and it was a golden period for anti Iranian government, such as Khomiani, who lives in Iraq. He went to France, from there he comes to Iran and made Iranian revelation in 1979. In addition, for your information I have to say that Russia started to built the Atom Power Electric Station in Busher on the foundations which have build by USA and so on. Why USA doesn’t like Iran has this technology is interesting for us? Because, USA during this time helps Iranian government to destroyed all Iranian enemies in the region. I mean Saddam Hussein in Iraq and Taleban in Afghanistan. However,at the moment to trust Iranian regim is so difficult.
Hi Bahram,
I read your thread again and again and again, but I cannot answer your question because the problem is so serious for me to think about.
If I could say one thing, the USA has power and its government tends to manipulate whole world.
Hi Hisako
Thank you for your comment. As you mentioned it is a very hard and series problem in the world. Why America has right to command its point of view to others. In addition, US are one of powerful countries in the world, that is correct. Do you think she can think and makes decision for others? In the other hand, I do not confirm Iranian position about enrichment uranium for different goals. But I think every country has right to think about its future in framework of international rules.
Hi Bahram,
In your comment, "she" means Hillary Clinton? I think the election in the US is in September, so currently nobody knows which one is going to be chosen. I mean, may be Obama will be chosen.
I wanted to say that Americans tend not to care about somebody else if they want something. The incident which happened on September 11, 2001 is a case in point.
And, I also think that all people have to think about the rules for their future.
Hi Hisako
I am glad see you again. I used the pronoun "She" for USA. As I know we can use she for country as well.
Have a nice weekend.
It always hard to talk about politics and find the same way with others..as everybody knows Middle-Eastern countries always have some problem..Everybody knows to reason..i guess..!That is nice topic to discuss about it.
